BRANSTAD HONORED WITH DISTINGUISHED IOWAN AWARD

Terry Branstad Receives Distinguised Iowan Award

Former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad was honored with the Distinguished Iowan Award at the 2000 Mid-Winter Luncheon, January 20, 2000 at the University Park Holiday Inn in West Des Moines. The Distinguished Iowan Award was established in 1973 by the Quarton-McElroy/IBA Foundation as one of IBA's most prestigious awards. It recognizes Iowans outside of the broadcast industry who have made significant contribution to the state, the nation and/or the world.

Other Iowans who have been recognized with the award include: U.S. Military Commander General Charles Horner; Retired ISU President Robert W. Parks; and Former Iowa Supreme Court Justice W. Ward Reynoldson.
