 Tom Quinlan, Owner of KDLS in Perry was named 1999 Broadcaster of the Year, at the Annual Awards Banquet held June 21 at the Collins Plaza Hotel in Cedar Rapids. The Broadcaster of the Year award is presented annually to an Iowa radio or television station Owner, President and/or General Manager who has provided quality leadership and exceptional service to their station(s) and their community. After 50 years in the radio business, Quinlan is still an active and involved broadcaster, not only serving as an owner of KDLS, but also continuing to do a morning air shift each day from 6:00-8:00am and 11:30am-1:30pm. Quinlan stays in touch with the day to day activities both in and out of the station and is very much involved in his local community. According to KDLS General Manager Patrick Graney, Tom Quinlan is the reason KDLS opens everyday! |
